CLUB HISTORY
CORVETTES OF NORTHEAST LOUISIANA was founded by Jim Mixon, a knowledgable owner of over a dozen Vettes in his life. In 2002 Jim Mixon joined the RIVER CITIES CORVETTE CLUB in the Shreveport area for the sole purpose of learning what is involved in establishing and operating a Corvette club made up of Corvette owners and enthusiasts. It had long been Jim’s dream to have a club near his home in Monroe, Louisiana.
In the Spring of 2003 Jim invited all those he knew, who owned Corvettes, to join him at Logan’s Roadhouse in West Monroe as charter members of CORVETTES OF NORTHEAST LOUISIANA. The first year ended with thirty members and Ryan Chevrolet of Monroe as the official sponsor committed to see the club become viable financially.
Ryan Chevrolet has sponsored and provided the dealership grounds as the location of the clubs annual “Corvette Show and Shine” held in September. Hooters Restaurant in West Monroe also teamed up with the club for an annual CORVETTE SPRING FLING AND SHOW at the restaurant each spring. This is a fun event with many Corvettes, food, fun, and people around the area checking out some nice fiberglass cars of all ages. These two events are the main source of new members
Corvette owners and enthusiasts are always welcome to meet with us the third Sunday of each month at Logan’s Roadhouse at 2:30 PM.
